Fiber to the Premises (FTTP)Fiber to the Premises refers to a deployment of a broadband telecommunications system based on fiber-optic cables and associated optical electronics for delivery of broadband service to homes and offices. Another name is "Fiber to the Home" (FTTH). This is the most costly broadband network implementation because every home requires a separate fiber-optic cable to link it with the central office.
Verizon's
FiOS is an example of a FTTP implementation.
